Aluminum machining usually fails because of chip welding, built-up edge or poor evacuation rather than tool hardness alone. Single flute and aluminum-focused carbide end mills are designed to create more chip space, reduce friction and keep the cutting edge clean at high spindle speeds.

When to choose an aluminum end mill

  • High-speed CNC machining of aluminum alloy, brass, copper, plastic or other non-ferrous materials.
  • Operations where chips stick to the flute or scratch the finished surface.
  • Router-style machining or lightweight CNC setups that need efficient chip evacuation.
