Use 2 flutes when chip evacuation matters most, especially aluminium and plastics. Choose 3 flutes for aluminium when you want better finish and rigidity. Choose 4 flutes for steel, stainless steel, and finishing where edge support is more important than chip space.
Square end mills make flat bottoms, slots, shoulders, and sharp corners. Ball nose end mills are for 3D contouring and curved surfaces. Corner radius end mills strengthen the cutting edge for roughing, profiling, and longer tool life.
